What do 80 degree Sundays remind you of? Pumpkins and tractors of course. Don't let the long sleeves fool you. It was hot. And everyone needed a nap. But there is something about the advent of fall that makes me giddy.

That, and toddler love.

First they were holding hands, and then "Ah-Ha" shared her popcorn with Miles. Sweetness.

Last year, it was freezing at the patch. And I was 24 weeks pregnant (just about to enter the hospital for the first time with contractions). And Miles, who I thought looked so old, looked like a baby.

And we came home with 2 parent pumpkins, and 2 baby pumpkins to represent our family.

This year we have 2 parent pumpkins, 2 baby pumpkins...and a pimply gourd.

As Eric commented...I wonder what the gourd represents?

  1. pimply gourd could be tongue cancer, ear infections, and spilled breast milk. Then, you could have a smashing ceremony on the driveway... how therapeutic would that be?!

  3. I think Rebecca's idea is a good one. What great pictures of beautiful children! I love the hand holding - sweet!
Even with no children here, we had to go out and choose our pumpkins, gourds, and ornamental peppers (in reds and yellows) to group on our front step. The chipmunks think it's terrific and are having parties out there. It's only when Greylock stalks them that they disappear.

  4. How did we miss y'all? We were there too! I knew immediately where y'all were when I saw the family in all white shirts behind y'all. Who knew it was the place to have family portraits?
